The problem
Package-based ETL is hard to version, review, and test. Moving to code-first pipelines means rereading every package by hand and rewriting its logic.
Approach
- Read the package. Parse the .dtsx file to find its sources, transforms, and destinations.
- Map to code. Translate each component into Python, a dbt model, or an Airflow task.
- Review and export. Check the generated code in the browser, then export it to the repo.
